Practice daily (set a regular time each day)         3. Look for all details (articulation, dynamics, style) - Audition criteria below (Don't forget you need to take a solo to contest to be a squad leader or play in Symphonic Band):                         Criteria for 2012-2013 Concert Band & Squad Leader Placement 1. Earn 85 Leadership Points (Leadership Only: Be sure to get leadership info packet) 2. Audition performance              - Leadership (Scales/Prepared Music/Sight Reading)             - Concert Band (Scales/Prepared Music/Sight Reading) 3. Ratings and difficulty of music at Solo and Ensemble Contest (Class C solo required to be a squad leader or in Symphonic Band) 4. Private lessons (Highly recommended for students who want to be Squad Leaders, play in Symphonic Band, or play in Concert Band I) 5. Participation in one or more honor bands (special consideration given to All-State Ensemble members). 6. Attitude and behavior (Leadership by example is a must!) 7.
